Naught Distilling infuses its Australian Dry Gin with Sangiovese grapes sourced from the Yarra Valley, marketed as the world's first gin of its kind. Founded in 2020 by distiller Chris Cameron, the label built its reputation on a classic juniper-forward Dry Gin before expanding into more experimental, grape-driven expressions — this being the boldest of the range.
The result is a striking, deep-red spirit that sits somewhere between gin and fortified wine. Juniper and citrus from the gin base carry through, layered with vibrant red fruit — cherry, raspberry, a touch of strawberry — from the Sangiovese. As it opens, notes of dark chocolate, orange peel and warm cinnamon spice add depth, finishing long and silky with a lingering sweetness.
37.5% ABV.
Best served chilled and neat, or as the base for a Sangiovese Sour or Negroni twist.
